I left a spoon at home for this trip.  The pictures will show that I really enjoyed the trip more without it.
I was able to provide much of the humor for the other 9 climbers.
They were all laughing at the way I did boulder hopping and bouldering all the time.
I don't know why, it seemed like great fun to me...

I rate this climb a "9", provided you do it this time of year.  It's even better if Peter is leading the trip!

(No, mom, it's not as dangerous as that picture looks.)

Not your average backpacking trail.

Camp.  Many Bivy tents.

Summit planning from camp Saturday evening.

Glacier Peak, hiding.

Laura's solo tent.
Don't you wish you had one of these when you were 5 yrs old?

My wooden spoon, carved while before dinner.

We will cross the glacier from
right to left across the upper section,
then go around the rock mass toward the back, clockwise.
Then we scramble up through boulders to the top.
Like a maze, there is only one way
to scramble to the top of this peak.

Morning climb with sunrise over Glacier peak.

A bit medieval-ish:
Sloan Summit in a fortress of colored rocks,
with the moon overhead during the day...

Robert tying in to avoid a crevasse plunge.
None happened on this trip.

Another party we met.

Robert and Gilbert.

Gilbert is showing off his really cool camera.

There's the windy trail.  And the view to go with it.

One of the "castle" posts, and Rainier in the background.

Some of the summit team.
You couldn't get everyone on this summit at the same time.

I look back at Peter as I check out the
lower far side of the summit ridge.

Baker, Shuksan, Ruth Mt., Me, Glacier Peak.

I'm still waiting to do Shucksan and Glacier Peak.

That's the glacier crevasse field we hiked through.

Tour de glacier.

Picture Gilbert took this picture of me.  His
wide-angle lens better captures the view.

I travelled up the corkscrew to the peak of Sloan
Through the river and back
All to find a spoon that was at home in the rack!
